The Government of Alberta announced it is allocating CA$5 million to support the planning and design of the Health Care Centre of Excellence at Bow Valley College.
The project aims to expand training programs for health care workers, including nursing, pharmacy, health care, mental health and addiction treatment.
The funding will cover the preparation of designs, studies and cost estimates, while the proposed centre is expected to include specialized laboratories, medical simulation rooms and modern teaching equipment.
The college aims to increase the number of graduates in health disciplines from about 750 to 2,500 graduates annually by 2033.
⚠️ The funding is designated for the planning phase under Budget 2026 and does not mean approval of funding for the full construction of the centre.
