Two personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian transitional government were killed after being shot by unknown gunmen in the town of al-Fu'ah in the northeastern Idlib countryside.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported the incident, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that one of the two men killed was from Idlib Governorate and the other from the city of al-Rastan in the Homs countryside.
The identity of the perpetrators and the motives behind the attack remain unclear, and no confirmed details have been announced regarding the circumstances in which the shooting took place.
The incident once again highlights the security challenges in Syria and the continued targeting of military and security personnel in various areas, amid calls to strengthen public security and to uncover and hold accountable those responsible for these attacks.
