An eyewitness reported that part of the roof of a building belonging to Cooper Trench in an industrial area of Edmonton came off at around 1 p.m., causing pieces of the roof to fall onto a car and a power pole.
The incident comes as Environment and Climate Change Canada warns of strong winds with gusts that could reach 100 kilometres per hour.
Footage circulating online shows large pieces of roofing material that had fallen near the road and parked vehicles.
No confirmed information is yet available on any injuries or the overall extent of the damage.
