The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) announced the results of a two-week enforcement operation targeting shoplifting at Southgate Centre and Kingsway Mall, conducted in cooperation with security teams and store management.
According to the published information, the operation resulted in:
▪️ 71 charges laid, including 33 at Southgate and 38 at Kingsway.
▪️ The recovery of stolen merchandise valued at approximately CA$9,670.
▪️ The execution of 66 arrest warrants.
▪️ 74 violations recorded related to unauthorized entry.
The operations targeted individual, organized and repeat thefts inside the shopping centres, as part of police efforts to reduce property crime and improve the safety of shoppers and workers.
⚖️ The charges laid do not mean guilt has been proven in court.
