Syria – Daraa | October 26, 2026

The Syrian government announced deaths and injuries, including children, as a result of airstrikes carried out by the Jordanian Air Force on areas in southern Syria.

The director of health in Daraa confirmed that five civilians were killed, including women, children and an elderly man.

Damascus said the strikes were carried out without any prior coordination with it, announcing the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the attack and contact with the Jordanian authorities.

For its part, the Jordanian army announced that the strikes targeted positions of groups it described as terrorist in southern Syria, which it said were linked to the perpetrators of the attack on the Hammoud church in Karak, stressing that the operation was carried out in coordination with the Syrian side.

The conflicting accounts reveal a dispute over military coordination, while investigations continue into the nature of the targets and the victims.
