The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced the results of security operations targeting extortion networks and organized crime, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies in several Canadian provinces.
According to the official statement issued on September 14, 2026, authorities issued 188 removal orders and carried out the removal of 111 non-citizens against whom inadmissibility decisions had been made regarding their stay in Canada, based on data recorded as of September 3, 2026.
Details of operations by region
▪️ Pacific Region: 91 removal orders and 58 removals carried out.
▪️ Prairie provinces, which include Alberta: 47 removal orders and 30 removals carried out.
▪️ Greater Toronto Area: 50 removal orders and 23 removals carried out.
Four people removed from Canada
The agency highlighted the cases of four people it said were linked to extortion and organized crime activities:
• Balwinder Singh.
• Jasmeer Singh.
• Amitoj Bajwa.
• Sahibjot Singh.
Authorities explained that inadmissibility decisions regarding their stay in Canada were issued as part of immigration proceedings, due to links to criminal activities, before their removal was carried out.
Strengthening measures against organized crime
Canada's Minister of Public Safety Gary Anandasangaree affirmed that the government continues to work to confront extortion crimes and protect communities through coordination between federal authorities and local security agencies.
The Canada Border Services Agency also pointed to the importance of information provided by the public in supporting investigations and identifying individuals subject to immigration enforcement measures.
These operations are part of broader efforts to strengthen border security and enforce removal orders issued under Canadian law.
Additional figures
The agency reported that it carried out 23,160 removals during 2025, and that it is working to strengthen its enforcement and oversight capabilities as part of Canada's Border Plan.
⚖️ Legal clarification: Inadmissibility decisions and removal proceedings are not necessarily criminal convictions. The campaign figures also include multiple cases and do not mean that all 111 people were convicted of extortion crimes.
