Calgary – Alberta | October 29, 2026
The city of Calgary witnessed an official procession honouring Canadian soldier Aidan Goulding, 23, of North Vancouver, as his body was transported as part of arrangements to return him to his hometown.
Members of the Calgary Police Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Armed Forces took part in the procession, with security personnel lining Crowchild Trail to give a military salute, while a large Canadian flag was raised over the road in tribute to the fallen soldier.
Goulding was among four Canadian soldiers who lost their lives on October 17, 2026, in a fast-spreading fire during military training at CFB Wainwright in Alberta.
The tragedy also left 39 military personnel injured, while investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances of the fire.
The procession reflects feelings of grief and solidarity with the families of the four soldiers who lost their lives while performing their military duty.
