WhatsApp is rolling out an additional protection feature that helps users assess unknown accounts before starting a conversation with them, as part of efforts to curb fraud and online deception.

The new interface displays a warning message asking the user: "Do you trust this person?", accompanied by information about the account, including the country of the phone number, whether the number's owner is in the user's contacts, and whether the two parties share any groups.

The interface allows the user to decide whether to continue the conversation or cancel it, while WhatsApp provides options to block and report suspicious accounts.

This information is intended to help users spot warning signs before communicating with unknown people, particularly in cases involving fraudulent messages or attempts to obtain personal and financial information.

⚠️ Note: The appearance of an international number or the absence of shared groups does not necessarily mean that an account is fraudulent, but it calls for verification before sharing any sensitive information.
